Inspired the rescue of a bull calf destined for slaughter, Israeli activists, had the number 269 (the number of the tag on the calf) branded on their skin with a hot-iron branding tool, as an act of fellowship with Calf 269. This act of branding and tattoing 269 on the human body has been performed by activists worldwide. This interspecies fellowship is a dramatic representation of just one moment of violence non-humans endure in dominion to humans.
