Animal Rebellion

Activists from Animal Rebellion gathered at Oxford Circus to disrupt traffic dressed as fruit and vegetables, dancing to party songs, holding 'punny' signs with their demands of a plant-based food system. It was a lighthearted disruption which was met with an excessive polic presence, who surrounded and kettled the activists, preventing them from leaving and arresting a handful of them. The police action of arresting people in costumes dancing, was a spectacle picked up by the national press, with Mr Broccoli gaining UK coverage on morning time television. A simple action that used police suppression to project the message further.
